Indian Head Massage
Indian head massage is a therapeutic and relaxing treatment using acupressure massage on the face, head, shoulders and neck with the intention of re-aligning your body and its energy centre.
The massage technique originated in India, a very spiritual place, where it has been sought out by travellers and people seeking re-balancing and nourishment for thousands of years.
It is also inter-twined with the practice of Ayurveda, and you will experience a deep massage, using varied pressure and techniques, including long strokes and circular strokes on your scalp, plus some deep tissue work on your shoulders, and then extending to the neck.
Benefits: Activates your crown chakra and core energy centre. It can make you feel well supported, cherished grounded and balanced and leave you with a sense of peace and harmony. It also helps to relieve mind fog, and to relieve tension, as it stimulates the flow of blood, and oxygen and it can help with insomnia, headaches and anxiety.
Deep Tissue Massage
Experience a deep tissue massage where a therapist adjusts the pressure in order to manipulate the deeper tissue layers in your body, specifically the tissue layers on top of the muscle, but excluding the muscle itself. The therapist does not go so deep into the massage but allows for a steady pressure to help release any knots and to assist in alleviating stiff muscles.
In a sport massage a therapist manipulates the soft tissue (muscle) with the purpose of preventing or improving a sports injury. More commonly, a sports massage aims to relieve big tension knots that often build up in the body over time due to injury. This is a specialised massage technique in which the practitioner-therapist possesses more specified medical knowledge. It is a safe treatment in which the therapist takes great care not to damage any fragile tissue.
Therapeutic Massage therapy can be defined as as the mobilisation of soft tissue (such as muscle, fascia and body fluids) to restore normal systemic and biomechanical/functional use. Many companies are adopting therapeutic Massage Therapy as part of workplace wellbeing. It is used in the treatment of most musculo-skeletal and associated problems, and if used regularly, it yields results such as circulatory, lymphatic and neurological functioning.
Therapeutic Massage can be soothing or stimulating, depending on the depth, technique, and speed of the therapist. This treatment is carried out by a registered therapist, and is proven to be both safe and effective and it also helps to create balance and harmony from within.
